For my friend Nicola’s belated birthday present, me, Abbie and Megan decided to take her to Whitby. We also saw this as a chance to take some photographs. However i chose to hang back and model for my friends instead of photograph myself as i’ve never been particularly talented in shooting my close friends. Once we arrived, Abbie decided she wanted to take photos of me in front of an old field. I wasn’t really prepared in terms of styling as i had just travelled in what i felt comfy in, however Abbie didn’t seem to mind. I was told to act moody and natural, which was easy enough. We then kept walking into Whitby itself and went for some food (which was way too overpriced for my liking). (Image below shot by Abbie Hudson).

After we had eaten, we chose to have a look around some arcades, in which i found a pretty sick pink building. Of course since i hadn’t brought my camera, i told my peers about it and we headed there to take a few shots. Abbie chose to shoot me, Nicola and Megan here. We were told to act ‘like a girl group’, not being a professional model however i had no idea how to do that so i just kind of did my own thing. The image turned out pretty good though due to the colour scheme and the wording ‘QUEENS’ being atop of our head. Its sort of a ‘girl power’ image i guess. (Image below shot by Abbie Hudson).

We then moved on to find a strip of arcades. We soon decided to take some images in these arcades. Abbie again asked me to model and i did so, however i myself chose to take some BTS images on my film camera. Modelling for Abbie was the same as usual, i simply had to act natural and look into the camera for all images, the location however was absolutely fabulous. The colours were all neon behind me as i was stood upon a bowling alley, it was fabulous. The owners of the arcade were a bit strange though, it was although they had never seen a camera before really. (Image below shot by Abbie Hudson).

All-in-all, i really enjoyed the trip to Whitby, it was a lovely day out and i had helped my friends get some good shots, it felt like a job well done for sure. From location scouting to modelling, i think i have expanded my skills and worked rather well in assisting my peers.
