The swingers club was a very interesting experience for both me and my models/assistants. I had two assistants, both Abbie Hudson and Megan Wilson. I am very happy that i chose to bring two assistants as they helped me in terms of good lighting locations and morale. The model i had chose to work with was Aisha, I have spoken about her within a previous blog post ‘VISITING THE SWINGERS CLUB’. The shoot started off with me and my assistants meeting Aisha and her own assistant outside of the club, we were then let into the location and i had the chance to see what lingerie my model had brought with her.
The styling of Aisha was very free flowing, it felt natural and easy to pick out which sets would look best with each room. These sets ranges from mesh bodysuits to two-piece lingerie pieces. Firstly we shot within the pink room. This room had a wall that was full of mirrors and had sparce lighting, however i was able to combat this by playing around with the shutter speed and ISO of the camera. I found it easy to direct Aisha and i soon realised she was very suited to modelling considering how she changed pose when suitable and took direction very well. My assistants helped me with where to place the model on the mattresses so that the lighting was best. (Image from this room shown below).
I then decided to re-locate to a room that was full of red decorum. This room seemed perfect to me considering the large red circular bed that was central to the area. I asked Aisha to lay atop the bed and look up to the camera, I also asked my assistants to hold a reflector in order to direct a gold highlight to the models face. This seemed to work perfectly and looks very good in the photographs themselves. I asked Aisha to make use of a red set of lingerie that she had brought with her and it really blended in nicely to the bed-sheets provided. To get this shot i had to stand on the bed and shoot the model from above, which seemed to be quite an awkward position, however she seemed to be very comfortable again whilst modelling for these photographs and the images turned out fabulous. For the next shot, i decided to use the staircase leading up to the sex rooms. Aisha and i chose for her to wear a floral bralette and matching knickers, as well as a fur coat for this image due to the colour scheme of the walls. I once again asked my assistants to use the reflector which worked pretty well, choosing to use the silver side this time to highlight the image a little better since the room was rather dim. I then asked Aisha to walk up the stairs so i could attempt to get a mildly candid shot. However when this failed i just asked her to pose next to the wall leading up and look at the camera. The shot isn’t my favourite of the images i captured while in the swingers club however i put this down to the dim lighting. However since this was for my PTT module i wasnt allowed to tamper with lighting, therefore if i were to shoot here again i would definitely make use of location lights. With the next shot i chose to shoot in a pink-lit bathroom that had a bathtub inside. I took the opportunity to shoot here in order to have some diversity within my imagery. There were a handful of props gathered around the room however i chose not to make use of these due to myself wanting the image to be focused on the model. I styled Aisha in a white sheer bodysuit and asked her to sit inside the bathtub. From here i directed her while the assistants watched and suggested different poses. I enjoyed shooting in this room as i found the lighting very pretty and useful, it also gave me further experience on perfecting the ISO and shutter speed in order to match the lighting. In conclusion, i had a lot of fun shooting within the swingers club. I was able to get every shot that i needed in one hour which seemed almost impossible at the start. I have found that i enjoy working under time constraints when shooting due to the rush i get from it and the pressure i get. My favourite shot from these images is definitely the ones from the red room, i feel that the lighting looks amazing and my assistants did a really good job with the reflector.
